Description

This talk will discuss how netdev operates, based around three things which are happening all the time within netdev:

Submitting patches to netdev for merging Being a Maintainer Being a Reviewer

While discussing netdev specific things for these three topics, there will be side discussions about how the Community operates and how respect and reputation, often overlooked in discussions about processes, is a key part of the operation of netdev, and Linux as a whole.

The aim of this talk is not a detailed tutorial, although some hints and tips will be presented. The aim is to highlight why things operate as they do, and to form a framework to trigger community discussion and questioning of what works well and where we have problems, what can be improved in our processes and community.
